Misgav LaDach Hospital in Jerusalem has been closed, by order of the Ministry of Health. The hospital, which provided \"natural birthing\" services, was founded in the Old City in 1854, was destroyed in the War of Independence, was later rebuilt in a small building in the Katamon neighborhood, and moved 14 years ago to a large new building a few blocks away. Over the last few years, it suffered from economic and personnel difficulties, and was run by a special government-appointed administrator. The closure will come into effect Thursday evening.
