Good news: The headline of an Arutz-7 story last week - "Man Banned from Going Home" - is no longer true. The Jerusalem District Court overturned this morning a ruling by the Jerusalem Magistrates Court, and Tidhar Hirschfeld of Adei Ad is now permitted to return to his home.
Hirschfeld was arrested last week after yelling at and insulting a policeman when police tried to prevent the residents of Adei Ad, near Shilo, from bringing a pre-fab home to the site. The sentencing judge, putting his harsh ruling in a political context by noting that many outpost-dismantlings are expected to occur in the near future, said that Tidhar must remain outside of Judea and Samaria until the end of the legal proceedings. The judge this morning, however, said that Israel is a democratic state and that therefore yelling at a policeman cannot be sufficient cause to prevent a person from returning to his home. Hirschfeld lives and owns a bakery in Adei Ad.
