Defense Minister Sha'ul Mofaz dedicated this afternoon a new civilian outpost, known as Nachal I'ron, in the Wadi Area, roughly between Hadera and Afula. The new location is within Israel's pre-1967 borders. Among its missions will be to protect the "seam line" between Samaria and pre-1967 Israel to the north, to create Jewish contiguity between the Menashe area and Katzir, and to conduct educational activities among regional youth. Speaking at the dedication, Mofaz said that last night's murderous attack was carried out by Islamic Jihad, and that "Israel will continue to act against that organization."
