Israeli and PA government officials met today on the issues of Palestinian incitement to murder and the release of Arab prisoners. Justice Minister Yosef (Tommy) Lapid met with Prisoners Minister Hisham Abdel Razek of the PA. Lapid said that Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists would not be released.
In addition, Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom met with PA Propaganda Minister Nabil Amar, in the framework of the joint anti-incitement committee. Shalom mentioned the ongoing incitement in PA television, newspapers, and schoolbooks - to which Amar responded that Israel's Transportation Minister Avigdor Lieberman said yesterday that he would like to provide a bus to take the Palestinian terrorists to drown in the Dead Sea. Shalom responded, "We seem to have forgotten how many times Arafat sent us to drink water from [the ocean of] Gaza."
