The Rabbinical Alliance of America (RAA) announced that it “extends its unwavering support to the Ichud HaRabanim (Rabbis Union) of Israel in their position that the ‘Road Map’ is in flagrant contradiction to Jewish religious law and Torah tradition.”

Some 400 rabbis from all over Israel gathered in Jerusalem last week to protest against the plan to give up parts of the Land of Israel to foreign rule. The RAA, too, has expressed vigorous support of halakhic rulings by former Chief Rabbis of Israel Shapira and Eliyahu that no individual or government has the right to relinquish parts of the Holy Land of Israel to a foreign entity. The latest RAA resolution and halakhic ruling was adopted unanimously earlier this week. The Rabbinical Alliance, an organization of more that 500 Orthodox rabbis, is on record as being strongly opposed to the Oslo accords from its very inception.
