In response to reports of US Secretary Powell's comments against the targeted killings of top Hamas leaders, Yisrael Medad, a former mayor of Shiloh, wrote, "if persons such as Rantisi are the ones ordering that suicide bomber into operation and that same Rantisi is now meeting with the Palestine Authority's negotiation team to stop Arab terror but is proving obstructive, he must then be a person of responsibility who can halt that terrorism. If so, his obvious role is one of a terrorist and the restraining of Israel at this point is counterproductive to the task at hand: the halt of the terror."

In New York City, Jewish-American organizations are planning a pro-Israel demonstration to greet US President George Bush when he visits the city on Monday. AFSI (Americans for a Safe Israel), Amcha, and others have called for supporters to gather outside the Sheraton Hotel (7th Ave. and 52nd St.) at 4:30 PM. Their message will be to negate U.S. pressure on Israel to dismantle homes in Judea, Samaria and Gaza and to negotiate with terrorists. "A PLO state inside Israel is simply the promise of another terrorist Arab state in the Middle East," say the organizers, "and the Road Map is a poisonous plan leading Israel into a deadly trap."

Today, in Jerusalem, several dozen members of the Women in Green organization demonstrated outside of the Prime Minister's Office. The themes of the protest, according to organizers, are the ties the Bush family have with Saudi leaders, their view that President Bush is no friend of Israel, and a Biblical warning to US Secretary of State Colin Powell that "cursed are those who uproot Jews from their homeland." The protestors held a 20-meter long banner with silhouettes of 810 victims of terrorism, they called the Road Map a Saudi plan to annihilate Israel, held signs that condemned the evacuation of Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, etc. "The U.S. should not be a party to this immoral Arab-sponsored 'plan', which attempts to declare war on the Biblical God of Israel," a Women in Green statement said.
