Yesha Council leaders met with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for over 90 minutes today in his office - in a meeting described as "difficult, worrisome, and charged with tension." This was their first meeting in a long while with Mr. Sharon. The Yesha Council municipal leaders told him that they would fight "with determination but without violence" against "the dismantling of outposts, the transfer of Israel's security to Arabs, and the establishment of a Palestinian state."

Mitzpeh Yitzhar, southeast of Yitzhar, may be dismantled this afternoon; 1,000 policemen are reported to be on their way. However, Itzik Sandroi - "father" of the neighborhood, and builder and resident of one of the permanent structures there - said that he is not so sure: "I keep hearing different rumors about thousands of police and soldiers, but I believe we have more accurate information than that. Army officers promised us that the evacuation and dismantling would not take place in the next few days. I admit, though, that it could be that they are not updated with the latest information... We have 70 people here, and we are on top alert 95% of the time..."

The Supreme Court has asked the State Prosecution to respond by tomorrow to the Beit El petition not to dismantle Tel Chaim B. The neighborhood in question is the easternmost in Beit El.
