Although it was reported today that the Yesha Rabbis Council supports the relocation of the Arabs of Judea, Samaria and Gaza to other lands, the Council made it clear today that this was not its official stance. Council spokesman Rabbi Daniel Shilo of Kedumim said that support of the idea known as "transfer" is not the Council's official position, but rather that of one rabbi - Rabbi Dov Lior of Kiryat Arba. The position paper released today stated that the Arabs of the Holy Land should be given "the 'right of return' to other Arab countries" - based on the Torah's injunctions in Exodus 23.
Rabbi Shilo told Arutz-7's that the Council had not convened to discuss this issue, although, he said, "it is certainly should be incumbent upon Arab countries to give refuge to Arabs in Gaza, for instance, who realize that they can no longer live there under the current crowded conditions." The statement also said that whoever relies only on "targeted killings" to extricate Israel from its security problems is attributing to much power to the army and not enough to the Divine.
