In case some of those who object to the government feel that their opposition and protests are futile, it might be interesting to know that Ariel Sharon does not agree. Arutz-7 this afternoon played an archives recording of Sharon speaking when he was a member of the opposition to the Rabin-Peres government, in which he explained the value of widespread protests against its policies:
"It is very important that it be clear that the public does not support this destructive policy of concessions on the part of the government. The more widespread the [protest] activities are, the clearer it will be. A Prime Minister who sees that there are objections - the minute he begins to have doubts about the ability to [carry out his policies in light of] massive opposition by the Israeli public, it will be much slower, and possibly we can save what can be saved."
