The soldier killed in Hevron on Sunday was Matan Gadri of Moshav Moledet in the north. He was buried there today, next to two of his friends. The mourning in Moledet is especially intense, as Matan was the sixth in his group of friends to have died in the past two years. Two soldiers, Tomer Ron and Assaf Fuchs, were similarly killed in the line of duty in Hevron and Tul Karem, respectively, in the past few months ago, while Be'eri Oved was one of 17 victims of the Haifa terrorist bus bombing three months ago. In addition, their other friend Eyal Tzur was run over in an accident, and a sixth friend, Eyal Moskowitz, died of cancer.
Terrorists opened fire at an Israeli car this afternoon near an IDF base in southern Gaza. Fire was also directed at an IDF post near N'vei Dekalim, and soldiers returned fire. No one was hurt in these incidents.
Three terrorists were killed over the night. One was killed this morning while trying to attack an IDF outpost near Morag, in southern Gush Katif. Near Netzarim, the bodies of two terrorists, together with their rifles, were discovered; they were killed last night while trying to perpetrate an attack on the community.
