A week of quiet in Gilo ended last night when Palestinians once again directed fire at Jerusalem\'s southern neighborhood. Their target was a water tank being transported between two IDF outposts. Israel reacted with a strong barrage of fire at a house in Beit Jala.

The industrial zone in N\'vei Dekalim was closed today, by army order, and no studies were held in the regional school in N\'vei Dekalim. The strike was called by the parents, in protest of the continued shooting on the school and the adjacent community center building. The army began to fence in the Hamawasi areas in Gush Katif this morning. It is suspected that the murderer of Kfar Yam resident Roni Tzalach five weeks ago came from among, or was helped by, the residents of the Hamawasi.
