The Jerusalem Magistrates Court rejected a request by the Hevron Police to distance a Jewish resident from Hevron for six months. The police requested that Gad Zarbiv, who took part in a demonstration following the murderous terrorist attack of Gadi and Dina Levy several days ago, not be allowed to set foot in his hometown for the coming half-year. They claimed that Zarbiv's expected protests against the Road Map would endanger the implementation of the Road Map plan.

The court informed the police that their request was illegal, and turned it down.

In response, leaders of the Hevron Jewish Community called on police to obey and uphold the law and democratic values.
