The Knesset yesterday rejected legislation submitted by MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) banning the transfer of funds to the Palestinian Authority. The "Professors for a Strong Israel" organization condemned the vote, saying that "Israel thus remains one of the 'donor countries,' those who continue to infuse money into the terror machine and pour gasoline on the flames of terrorism."
Professors for a Strong Israel demands that the government finally realize that we are in a state of war, with all that this entails. "This would automatically involve," the organization's statement reads, "the denial of funds to the enemy, the prohibition on movement of armed terrorists in the country (including the Prime Minister's office!), and an end to negotiations aimed at establishing a terrorist state. No rational state supplies tax collection services, employment, and energy resources to an enemy that aspires towards her annihilation."
