Residents of Yesha have begun to make their presence felt. Hundreds of Jews clashed with soldiers yesterday at the site of Gilad Zar\'s Tuesday murder, but in the end managed to bring a caravan to the site; they have named the place Mitzpeh Gilad [the Gilad Overlook]. In northern Efrat, as well, the municipality has placed three caravans on Tamar Hill; a neighborhood there has been in the planning stages for several years, but remained uninhabited until yesterday. Outside Kiryat Arba and elsewhere, Jewish residents blocked the road to Palestinian traffic.



Terrorists opened fire at two Israeli cars south of Hevron this morning; no one was hurt. When the local Security Officer arrived on the scene, the Arabs opened fire on him as well. He and the soldiers there opened fire at the Arab attackers as they drove off, but the latter managed to escape... Several mortar shells were fired this morning at the Jewish communities in Gaza; no one was hurt... Palestinians attacked an IDF position in Rafiach, near the Egyptian-Israeli border. No one was hurt, and IDF soldiers returned sporadic fire... Last night, a soldier was moderately wounded when he was shot in the back by Arab terrorists; they were standing on an overpass between Ramallah and Jerusalem and shot at the car as it passed by...



Fareh Bito, a 55-year-old Arab from the Palestinian Authority who aided Israel, was murdered in Bethlehem last night. He helped mediate in the sale of lands that later became part of the new Jerusalem neighborhood of Har Homa.
