The College of Judea and Samaria in Ariel held its annual Research Seminar on Judea and Samaria today. Some 75 professors and academics from institutions of higher learning all over Israel took part. Among the topics discussed was a study showing that security risks are not a factor in Yesha's younger generation's decisions on where to build their own homes. A study on the "no'ar ha-gvaot" (the hilltop youth) shows that despite their sub-standard living conditions, most of them are happy with these conditions. Other papers presented dealt with water sources and the water crisis, the location of the Jewish town of Carmel during the period of the Talmud, cherry raising in the Judean Mountains, Israel as the Land of the Bible, how to market tourism to the Land of the Bible, and more.
