Hours before Rosh Hashanah, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Western Wall on Thursday evening to pray, accompanied by Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, CEO of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.
Netanyahu recited a chapter of Psalms and prayed for the success of the State of Israel, the safety of IDF soldiers and security forces, and a good and blessed new year for all Israeli citizens.
He later made a statement on Iran, saying: “President Trump announced this evening that Iran is once again trying to arm itself with nuclear weapons. That is true. After we destroyed its immediate capability to produce nuclear bombs, both in Operation Rising Lion and Operation Roaring Lion, they are trying again.
“I pledge to you here, at the Western Wall, ahead of the New Year: As long as I am Prime Minister, Iran will not have nuclear weapons. At the same time, we are striking the Iranian axis, not only in the Gaza Strip very hard, but also in Lebanon. We destroyed the Beaufort Ridge, and now we are dealing with the Ali Taher Ridge," Netanyahu said.
