Exclusive: Otzma Yehudit Chairman and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has notified pro-Israel advocate Yishai Fleisher that he will be placed at number 12 on the party's slate in the upcoming Knesset elections. Fleisher serves on the Efrat Local Council and as the international spokesman for the Jewish community of Hebron.
The Israeli advocate and media personality has over 300,000 subscribers on YouTube and constantly appears in international media.
During his media appearances, he advocates for the Jewish people's rights to the Land of Israel and the State of Israel and, among other things, has defended Ben-Gvir in interviews with the foreign press, including the popular program Piers Morgan Uncensored.
As part of Israel activism in Hebron, Fleisher works to strengthen the status of the Cave of the Patriarchs as a pilgrimage site and brings journalists, public figures, and delegations from Israel and abroad to the city. Over the years, he also worked to restore biblical and heritage sites and to make their significance accessible to the public in Israel and abroad.
Another major focus of Fleisher’s public activity is aliyah. Born in Israel to parents who had been denied permission to emigrate from the former Soviet Union, he spent about half his life in the United States before returning to Israel as an oleh.
As a member of the Efrat Local Council, Fleisher works to assist new immigrants and connect them with the community. He speaks Hebrew, English, and Russian and is a graduate of the Cardozo School of Law in New York.
Fleisher’s placement is the latest in a series of candidates announced by Ben Gvir ahead of the elections. Ben-Gvir will lead the slate, Tally Gotliv is expected to be placed second, and Yitzhak Wasserlauf will take the third spot.
Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu will be placed fourth on the Otzma Yehudit slate. Eliyahu, the son of Safed Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, advanced initiatives during his tenure involving heritage preservation, the development of heritage sites in Judea and Samaria, and the commemoration of the legacies of Ze’ev Jabotinsky, the Irgun, and Lehi.
Ben-Gvir will place Chabad activist Yossi Goldberger ninth on the slate. Goldberger, one of the founders of the Givat Lubavitch community in Kfar Chabad and Lod, is 39, married, and a father of four. In recent years, he has served as an adviser to ministers and Knesset members and worked with government ministries and various authorities.
It should be noted that in the polls published over the past week, the party has only received between seven and eight seats.
