DF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir on Sunday visited the Ground Training Center as part of the surprise General Staff readiness test, "Breaking Dawn 2.0," which is examining the military's preparedness for a sudden, complex, and large-scale multi-front event.

Zamir conducted the visit together with the Head of the Operations Directorate, MG Itzik Cohen; Southern Command Commander MG Yaniv Asor; Ground Training Center Commander BG Yaniv Barot; 98th Division Commander BG Meni Liberty; Gaza Division Commander BG Liron Batito; and additional commanders.

During the exercise, the Chief of Staff closely observed the readiness of troops and units to respond to a surprise multi-front event, including the activation of alert forces and reserves, decision-making processes, and the operational response at all levels of command.

"Today's exercise constitutes another step in implementing the lessons of October 7th and examining the IDF's readiness for a scenario involving a surprise war," Zamir said.

"We are assessing the readiness of the forces and demanding that they meet the highest standard at every level, from the soldier at a position or outpost, through the command and control centers and headquarters, to the General Staff; from the soldier in the field to the Chief of the General Staff."

The readiness test is part of an ongoing process aimed at strengthening the IDF's foundations and improving the readiness and preparedness of troops and commanders at all levels.

As part of the test, operational plans are being practiced and assessed together with lessons learned from combat on several fronts and from the October 7 massacre. The exercise is also being conducted as part of preparations for the upcoming holiday period.

"We are changing, correcting and strengthening everything required to be better prepared for every scenario," Zamir stated.

He added that the exercise also carries a message to Israel's enemies.

"Today's examination also sends a message to our enemies: The IDF is fit, prepared, and ready to defend the State of Israel, and is also prepared to take the initiative and strike anyone who attempts to harm us."

"Our message is clear-anyone who attempts to harm the State of Israel and its civilians will encounter a determined IDF that is prepared and ready, and will pay an immediate and very heavy price," the Chief of Staff concluded.
