Knesset Member Tzvika Foghel will not run in the upcoming elections on the Otzma Yehudit slate.
National Security Minister and party chairman Itamar Ben-Gvir published a farewell message today (Sunday) to Foghel, thanking him for his work over the years.
“I thank my dear friend, MK Zvika Foghel, from the bottom of my heart for years of dedicated, determined and uncompromising work on behalf of the country’s security, the people of Israel and the Otzma Yehudit party," Ben-Gvir said.
According to Ben-Gvir, Foghel devoted his life to the country’s security and acted out of “a deep sense of mission, courage and belief in the path."
Ben-Gvir also referred to Foghel’s tenure as chairman of the Knesset National Security Committee. He said that in this role, Fogel led initiatives to strengthen security and governance, security agencies and civilian security squads, and was also among the leading figures in advancing legislation in the Knesset.
“I thank him from the bottom of my heart for our shared journey, for his friendship, dedication, loyalty and his major contribution to Otzma Yehudit and the people of Israel," the Otzma Yehudit chairman added. Ben-Gvir wished Foghel success in his future endeavors.
“Zvika is a man of values, a true fighter and a great patriot," Ben-Gvir concluded.
The statement did not give a reason for Foghel’s decision not to run on the party’s slate in the upcoming elections.
