The IDF announced Sunday afternoon that the Shin Bet, IDF and Yamam forces completed a counter-terrorism operation in the Akraba area in the northern Jordan Valley, during which a Hamas terrorist cell was thwarted and a rocket was located.
During the operation, a rocket without a launcher was located and immediately dismantled.
Security forces also apprehended a Hamas terrorist cell consisting of ten terrorists who had been working to advance terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians.
In addition, following questioning, one of the terrorists revealed the location of a weapons cache containing an M16 rifle and a large quantity of explosives intended for the production of explosive devices. The weapons and explosives were also immediately dismantled at the scene.
“The security forces will continue to operate proactively and offensively to thwart terrorism throughout Judea and Samaria, in order to safeguard the security of residents in the area and Israeli civilians," the IDF stated.
