Earlier today (Sunday), the IDF struck terrorists and infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the area of southern Lebanon.
In the strikes, the IDF targeted weapons storage facilities and terrorist structures intended for use by Hezbollah terrorists to plan and direct terrorist attacks within the Security Zone.
In addition, the IDF struck a Hezbollah command center that had been established inside a building previously used as a hospital in southern Lebanon.
In recent weeks, Hezbollah terrorists involved in artillery and observation activities were identified operating from the command center. Hezbollah uses medical infrastructure to advance terror attacks.
All of the targets were struck to remove threats posed by Hezbollah terrorists who have been using these sites to advance terrorist attacks against IDF soldiers and the citizens of the State of Israel.
The strikes were carried out in response to Hezbollah’s attempted attack yesterday against IDF soldiers operating in the Ali Taher Ridge area, during which two explosive drones were launched toward the soldiers. No IDF injuries were reported.
The IDF stated that prior to the strikes, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance.
