בשכונת גילה: מתמודד נפש חשוד ברצחדוברות המשטרה

A suspected attempted murder occurred in Jerusalem’s Gilo neighborhood when a man with a mental health condition allegedly threw his brother into an underground garbage container. Passersby who witnessed the incident alerted police.

Emergency and rescue crews quickly arrived at the scene and began efforts to extract the man trapped inside the container. He was eventually rescued and taken to a hospital in moderate condition.

Following the incident, officers from the Jerusalem District’s Moriah Police Station opened an investigation into the circumstances that led to the man ending up inside the garbage container. As part of the investigation, detectives collected evidence, findings and footage from the scene. These efforts led investigators to suspect that the victim’s brother, a 28-year-old man, was involved in the incident.

Police arrested the suspect and took him in for questioning on suspicion of attempted murder. He is expected to appear later today before the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court, where police will request an extension of his detention to allow the investigation to continue.
