Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited a military installation near the Gaza Strip's Yellow Line on Wednesday morning. The Prime Minister was accompanied by IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Southern Command Chief Major General Yaniv Asor, and 99th (Bazak) Division Commander Brigadier General Elad Tzuri.
During the visit, Netanyahu was thoroughly briefed by the field commanders. The briefings focused on the IDF forces' operations in the Yellow Line sector, ongoing missions, and efforts to neutralize threats and protect the lives of soldiers and local communities.
"We control the territory. You can see Ashkelon from here; you can see all of our communities in all directions: Sderot, Netivot, and the kibbutzes. We are not withdrawing. We are staying on this line," the Prime Minister declared.
He added, "We control 60% of the Gaza Strip, and there is more to come, because we are eliminating the terrorists who threaten us. We are doing so day in and day out. Yesterday we took the head of Hamas's general security service. We will certainly learn some things. But we are doing everything to reach our goal: disarming Hamas and demilitarizing the Gaza Strip. Gaza will never be a threat to Israel. This goal has effectively been reached, and there is still work to be done, and we will complete it."
