United Airlines has announced that it will resume nonstop service between Tel Aviv and San Francisco in March 2027.
The year-round service from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport to San Francisco International Airport will operate three times a week beginning March 30, 2027. According to United, the airline will offer more business class seats between the two cities than any other airline.
The San Francisco route will join several other United routes connecting Israel and the United States.
United's Tel Aviv-Newark/New York service is set to resume on September 9, 2026, operating twice daily. A third flight, operating four times weekly, is scheduled to begin on November 4.
Four-times-weekly flights between Tel Aviv and Chicago are scheduled to resume on October 26, while three-times-weekly service between Tel Aviv and Washington Dulles is scheduled to resume on October 28.
With these services, United said it will offer more flights from Tel Aviv than any other US airline.
United noted that its service to Tel Aviv always follows a detailed assessment of operational, safety, and security considerations in the region.
“We are pleased to announce the return of our service between Tel Aviv and San Francisco for summer 2027," said Yael Barzilay, Country Sales Manager Israel, United Airlines.
“This restores an important connection between two of the world’s leading technology hubs, and our customers in Israel will be able to benefit from greater travel choice and seamless connections via our US hubs in Chicago, Newark/New York, San Francisco, and Washington Dulles to over 225 destinations across the Americas."
The Tel Aviv-San Francisco route will be operated using a Boeing 787-9 aircraft with 257 seats, including 48 United Polaris business class flatbed seats with aisle access, 21 United Premium Plus seats and 188 United Economy seats. The economy cabin includes 39 Economy Plus seats offering additional legroom and personal space.
Flight UA955 will depart Tel Aviv at 12:55 a.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and arrive in San Francisco at 6:00 a.m. The year-round service is scheduled to resume on March 30, 2027.
In the opposite direction, flight UA954 will depart San Francisco at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and arrive in Tel Aviv at 7:55 p.m. the following day. That service is scheduled to resume on March 28, 2027.
The resumption of the Tel Aviv-San Francisco route forms part of what United described as the largest international network expansion in the company's history, encompassing 10 new international cities and three new routes across Europe and Asia.
Beginning as early as March 2027, United plans to launch service to 10 new international cities, including eight which it said are not served by any other US airline.
The new services include San Francisco-Okinawa; Washington Dulles-Toulouse; and flights from Newark/New York to Luxembourg City, Marseille, Ibiza, Valencia, Terceira, Ljubljana, Olbia and Catania.
United's Airbus A321XLR aircraft will operate the new services to Ibiza, Luxembourg, Marseille, Toulouse and Valencia.
The airline also plans to add flights between Los Angeles and Osaka, Washington, DC and Milan, and Denver and Paris, in addition to resuming the San Francisco-Tel Aviv route.
United said it will also bring back destinations added for summer 2026 for the summer 2027 season, including flights from Newark/New York to Split, Bari, Glasgow and Santiago de Compostela.
According to the airline, it has added 58 international destinations to its route map since 2017 and currently flies to more than 160 international destinations.
All of the new flights are subject to government approval and are available for sale through United's website and app.
