A rapid rescue was carried out from Palestinian Authority territory. Earlier this week, the police emergency hotline received a report about an Israeli citizen, a resident of Holon, who had mistakenly driven his vehicle into Area A in the Ramallah area.
The area is under Palestinian Authority civilian and security control, and Israeli citizens are prohibited by law from entering it, as doing so is considered life-threatening.
Immediately upon receiving the report, Jerusalem Periphery Border Police officers established direct telephone contact with the man. The teams maintained continuous communication with him and provided real-time safety instructions, while forces were simultaneously dispatched to the area and began targeted searches to locate his exact position.
During the operation, the officers succeeded in identifying the vehicle in which the man was located. The forces reached him, verified that he was in good health and had not been harmed, and escorted him out of Area A to a safe location.
Upon meeting up with the forces, the man was heard saying: “Now I’m calm."
