Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son, Yair Netanyahu, was the target of a planned Iranian assassination plot, the American news network Newsmax reported, citing information provided by a US official.

According to the report, the Iranian operation was intended to be carried out in Florida while the younger Netanyahu was living in Hallandale Beach, near Miami. Israeli intelligence officials uncovered the plot in December of last year.

It was further revealed that a cell acting on behalf of Iran had already arrived in the Miami area, remained in Netanyahu’s vicinity, and conducted extensive surveillance and monitoring of his residence and daily routine. Once the scale of the threat was discovered, an urgent intelligence warning was relayed to the relevant US authorities.

Following the urgent information, American officials instructed Netanyahu to leave the area immediately. As a result of the urgent directive, Yair Netanyahu was forced to leave his personal belongings at the property where he was staying and return immediately to Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Monday evening that Iran has attempted to assassinate one of his children. The information was previously prohibited from being published.

In a conversation with Channel 14 News, Netanyahu said, "There is something here that is unbelievable. Iran targeted one of my children. Iran tried to murder one of my children."

When asked whether this was intelligence information that was presented to him, Netanyahu did not elaborate and repeated his words: "Iran tried to assassinate one of my children." According to him, security for his children is not a luxury: "It is something without which this attempt will simply succeed."
