The hospital said that over the past 42 days, Hadar received complex and dedicated medical care from the neonatal intensive care teams. Sadly, she was pronounced dead today.

“It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of the premature baby Hadar Cohen," Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital said. “Since her birth, the neonatal intensive care teams fought for her life and provided her with dedicated and complex medical treatment. Sadly, she passed away today."

The hospital added in its statement, “Assuta Ashdod Hospital shares in the family’s profound grief at this difficult time."

Magen David Adom motorcycle unit emergency medical technician Yisrael Meir Gayan described the accident: “This was a head-on collision between two vehicles. The vehicles had sustained damage to their front ends. A woman approximately 30 years old had an altered level of consciousness and was suffering from multiple injuries to her body. Four other people from the vehicles were walking around at the scene and had sustained minor injuries. We provided everyone with medical treatment and evacuated them by ambulance to the hospital for further examinations and treatment."
