Senior figures from Israel’s media and high-tech sectors gathered in Savyon for the launch of “Jewit - Simply to Be Jewish," a new digital platform unveiled by Rabbi Shmuel Bistritzky, Savyon’s rabbi and a Chabad emissary. The initiative combines artificial intelligence with Jewish law, commandments and tradition, aiming to make practical Jewish knowledge accessible to users anywhere and in real time.
Among the speakers was Dr. Ben Chaklai, Microsoft’s vice president of national technologies in Israel and a senior lecturer at Reichman University, along with Savyon resident and cybersecurity expert Ohad Plutnik and Roni Morel, who represented local residents who supported the project and invested their time and resources in its development.
The platform operates in Hebrew, English, French and Russian and is designed to provide guidance on everyday Jewish practices and major moments in life. “Whether it is someone who wants to know how to affix a mezuzah, build a sukkah, put on tefillin, or how to start observing kosher and Shabbat for the first time, Jewit offers an immediate solution," Bistritzky said. The website includes practical guides in written and video formats, a dynamic Jewish calendar and a personalized prayer book, while also connecting users with more than 1,000 rabbis who can provide rapid answers based on their geographic location.
“We are in a new era in which the distance between technological advancement and the heart of Jewish tradition has never been closer," Bistritzky said. “The fact that on an election evening, all ends of Israeli society come together to celebrate the launch of a platform like this says it all: choose Judaism."
