Israel Police Spokesman Ariyeh Doron said on Sunday that despite the large-scale investigation, the police have still not determined the exact reason for the disappearance of Mali and Liel Yahalomi, who were located over the weekend in Argentina after disappearing in Austria.

In an interview with the Kalman and Liberman program on Kan Reshet Bet radio, Doron said that "at this stage the police still do not know the exact reason for their disappearance at that time." He added that, according to the existing information, no unusual event has been found in connection with the case, and that at this stage only small financial debts are known.

Doron also addressed the police's decision to publish the footage showing the two after they were located in Argentina, together with the police's representative in South America. According to Doron, "The people of Israel, who worried, deserved to see them healthy and safe on their own feet."

He added that this was one of the most complex investigations conducted by the police in recent years. “The investigation spanned countries and continents, involving the police Intelligence Division as well as significant forces and capabilities to locate the two women and trace their movements," he said.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the case, but emphasized that at this stage, the exact motive behind their disappearance remains unknown.
