The IDF carried out strikes overnight in the Ali Taher Ridge area of Lebanon in response to the wounding of an officer and two soldiers by an explosive drone operated by Hezbollah.

Lebanese reports indicate that Israeli Air Force aircraft carried out several attack runs in the ridge area and struck various Hezbollah targets.

It was also reported that, alongside the airstrikes, heavy artillery fire was directed at various targets in the same villages and their surrounding areas.

At the same time, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated that the military carried out a strike yesterday in the Deir ez-Zahrania area and eliminated Abu Hassan Alaa, a senior commander in the “Badder Unit" of the Hezbollah terrorist organization.

"As part of his role, Hassan Alaa took part in advancing numerous terror attacks against IDF soldiers operating in the Security Zone, including the launch of explosive drones toward IDF soldiers in southern Lebanon. Over the past years, the terrorist commanded several combat sectors in the Hezbollah terrorist organization that operated against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians," the IDF stated.

"Hassan Alaa was struck and eliminated in response to an action that the Hezbollah terrorist organization executed against IDF soldiers who operated in the Security Zone. His elimination constitutes severe degradation in the management ability of the unit, and is in addition to the elimination of Ali Samir Al-Haj Hassan, who served as a battalion commander in the Radwan Force unit and was eliminated at the Ansar headquarters.

"The IDF will not allow the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, and will continue to operate to remove threats," the military said.
