The police on Sunday arrested the son of a former Knesset member who was armed with a loaded pistol on Route 44 near Ramla.
The suspect, a Rehovot resident in his 40s, was arrested after officers found a shoulder bag in his vehicle that was holding an FN pistol loaded with a clip of 9mm bullets.
The police reported that while stopping the vehicle for inspection on Route 44 near the Nesher cement plant, police officers had to break the window to take control of the suspect driving the vehicle and complete the arrest.
