A 12-year-old boy who fell from a boat in the Jordan River near Yesod HaMa'ala on Sunday was found dead after an extensive search operation. Contact with the teenager was lost after he fell from the boat.
The incident was reported to the Fire and Rescue Authority's 102 emergency hotline. Firefighters and rescue teams, along with members of the Northern District's Special Rescue Unit, were dispatched to the area.
The forces conducted extensive searches along the Jordan River in an effort to locate the boy. Israel Police and other agencies also took part in the search.
During the search operation, the boy was located with no signs of life.
United Hatzalah EMTs Yossi Amar and Shneor Zalman Navon reported: "A 12-year-old boy was located and pulled from the water by the Golan Rescue Unit and brought to the banks of the Jordan River without signs of life. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene. United Hatzalah assisted in the search efforts with our drone unit, and our Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit provided emotional first aid at the scene due to the nature of the incident."
