Democracy, Kosovo-style: Time Kadrijaj, a member of parliament from Kosovo's Alliance party, was far from pleased with Prime Minister Albin Kurti's announcement that he had not yet decided who would fill the position of Speaker of Parliament, and chose to express her protest in a particularly violent manner.
Videos leaked from parliament show Kadrijaj throwing at least four eggs at the stunned prime minister before she was restrained by fellow lawmakers and security personnel.
The footage also shows Kadrijaj attempting to run toward the prime minister, apparently trying to strike him, while shouting, "Shame, shame," before being stopped by several people who had to use force to restrain her.
Kadrijaj's outburst came after Prime Minister Kurti told parliament that he "needs more time to hold talks with other parties before proposing a candidate for the position of Speaker of Parliament."
Kosovo held elections last June, but Kurti has still been unable to reach an agreement with the other parties on a consensus candidate for the post of parliamentary speaker. Kosovo has been mired in political deadlock for the past two years.
