A devastating tragedy occurred during a family vacation in Mexico when four-year-old Shalom Seginer drowned in a swimming pool.
Shalom was the son of Rabbi Asaf and Rivka Seginer and the grandson of Rabbi Shalom Arush, head of the Chut Shel Chesed institutions in Israel.
The child drowned in the pool while the family was vacationing in Mexico. Local emergency responders were called to the scene and performed prolonged resuscitation efforts, but were ultimately forced to pronounce him dead.
In a statement, the family said: "Blessed is the True Judge. Death has entered through our window with the heartbreaking news of the passing of the pure child, Shalom Seginer, son of Rabbi Asaf and Rivka, grandson of the distinguished Rabbi Shalom Arush, may he be granted a long and good life. Only four years old, he ascended pure and innocent. May God comfort us and heal our broken hearts."
