Sirens sounded Saturday morning in the town of Ofarim in Samaria, warning of a suspected terrorist infiltration.

The sirens were set off after a suspect driving a stolen vehicle broke through the town's security barrier during a police chase, and then exited the vehicle and attempted to escape.

"Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in the area of Ofarim regarding a suspected terrorist infiltration, during a chase conducted by the security forces after a suspected vehicle in the area, the vehicle infiltrated the community," the IDF confirmed.

"Security forces were dispatched to the area. The suspect exited the vehicle, and a security personnel member operating in the area carried out a suspect apprehension procedure that included fire toward him.

"The suspect was apprehended and was transferred to the Israel Police for further handling," the IDF added, noting that "the incident has concluded. There is no suspicion of a security incident."
