Firefighters from the HaUma District Fire Station rescued a child on Friday after the child's hand became trapped inside a metal mixer beater at the family's home in Jerusalem.
The incident was reported to the Fire and Rescue Service's 102 emergency dispatch center, prompting fire and rescue crews to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters found that the child's hand had become wedged between the beater's rigid metal wires and could not be freed without assistance.
The firefighters reassured the child throughout the rescue and carried out a delicate, precise operation. Using specialized tools and a miniature Dremel cutting tool, they carefully cut through the metal wires one by one until the child's hand was safely freed without injury.
Incident commander Reshef Gordon Asulin said, "This was a delicate and complex rescue that required exceptional precision and great care to avoid injuring the child's hand during the cutting process. The firefighters worked professionally, calmly, and with great caution, using specialized equipment while reassuring the child throughout the operation. Thanks to their efforts, the child was rescued safely."
