Jerusalem District Traffic Division officers this week arrested a 42-year-old taxi driver from Ma’ale Adumim after discovering that he had been driving without a valid license for 20 years.
The driver had been working as a taxi driver in his local area and regularly transported passengers in Jerusalem as well. For two decades, he continued to drive and carry passengers despite not holding a valid driver’s license.
The investigation revealed that in recent years, the driver had been caught on eight separate occasions driving without a license. Each time, he returned to the road, placing passengers at risk without their knowledge that they were being transported by an unlicensed driver.
To prevent him from continuing to drive illegally, police decided to arrest him. An indictment is also expected to be filed against him.
