The extreme left-wing Gush Shalom organization reported today that the offices of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) in Bethlehem had been raided, computers were confiscated, and people were arrested. Media reports later confirmed that IDF troops carried out the raid, detained three people for questioning, and confiscated computer disks and other equipment. Among the three detainees were two female foreign volunteers - in Israel illegally - and a PA employee.

Israel has lately decided to take a firm stand against foreign volunteers in the PA-controlled areas, after a series of unpleasant clashes with them. Most recently, two British terrorists took part in the suicide attack last week in Tel Aviv that killed three Israelis; one of the terrorists got away and has not yet been caught. They had crossed into pre-1967 Israel from Gaza under the guise of taking part in a pro-PA peace effort.

In addition, the two earlier took part in a protest march in memory of Rachel Corrie, an American peace activist who was accidentally killed by an Israeli bulldozer while protesting the demolition of a terrorist's home; she had earlier been photographed burning a mock U.S. flag during a rally in the Gaza Strip.

Another connection between the "peace" activists and the terrorists was uncovered two months ago when the IDF announced that two ISM women helped a terrorist - with a history of planning bombings, shootings, and suicide attacks - hide from Israeli forces.

Haaretz reported today that Israel has decided to bar pro-Palestinian activists from entering the country and will try to expel at least some of the dozens of activists who are already here. The latter say they want to protect Arabs and their houses while the IDF carries out anti-terror activities in PA areas, and they have often been involved in confrontations with Israeli soldiers. They also try to help PA Arabs pass through IDF roadblocks, the presence of which has contributed noticeably to the anti-terror struggle.

IDF officials say that many of the "peace activists" are actually provocateurs who "deliberately interfere with the IDF's work, with the goal of blackening Israel's image." They say that the ISM volunteers received prior training in how to deceive border control officials at Ben Gurion International Airport in order to be allowed into the country.
