The army has allowed a group of people from Achiyah and neighboring communities to establish a temporary presence at the site where their neighbor Gideon Lichterman was murdered in a Palestinian terrorist ambush on Monday night. The residents will remain at the site - which is about seven kilometers east of Shilo and just west of the north-south Alon Highway - at least until Monday, the end of the ritual seven-day "shiva" mourning period. Moti Har'el, head of the secretariat of Achiyah and nearby Adei Ad, said that the public is invited to come and show support. Future plans are being considered, he added.

Transportation Minister Avigdor Lieberman (National Union) said in response that there are no "illegal outposts."
