Talk of the Road Map and peace progress notwithstanding, Palestinian terrorists continued their efforts to murder Israelis in terrorist attacks over the weekend. They fired several mortar shells from PA areas at southern Gush Katif communities on Friday night and again last night; no one was hurt.

Attacks against soldiers abounded, both in the northern Shomron near Kadim, in southern Gaza, and several times in Tul Karem. No one was hurt. One soldier sustained light injuries from gunfire in the Jenin district. In addition, soldiers at work destroying a weapons smuggling tunnel in that area yesterday were attacked by hundreds of PA residents. The mob used explosive devices, firebombs, and rocks. At least was PA resident was injured in a leg by IDF fire.

Security officials arrested 24 PA residents of Beit Omar last night, south of Gush Etzion, on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities. A PA resident in the possession of bomb-making components was apprehended near Kalkilye.

The PA is placing the blame for the shooting death of British cameraman James Miller last night on Israel - and Israel says it might have been the Arabs. Miller was shot dead when he walked out of an Arab house in the Rafiach war zone in southern Gaza. An IDF statement expressed sorrow over the death of a civilian, but added that Miller was aware of the dangers when he entered the combat zone. The body has been brought to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute to determine if he was killed by IDF or PA gunfire.
