Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived on Thursday evening at the central Jerusalem Day celebration at the Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva in the capital.

During the visit, Netanyahu joined distinguished rabbis, judges, government ministers, and other public figures who gathered for the traditional assembly marking the anniversary of the city's reunification.

During the event, the Head of the Yeshiva, Rabbi Yaakov Shapira, presented the Prime Minister with a special memento to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Operation Entebbe.

The tribute was presented in honor of the bravery and sacrifice of the Prime Minister’s brother, Yoni Netanyahu, who led the force during the mission to rescue the hostages.

The commemorative gift featured a framed photograph of Yoni, inscribed with the biblical verse: "Lo, a people that rises like a lioness, leaps up like a lion". The portrait was signed by Rabbi Shapira as an expression of deep appreciation for Yoni Netanyahu’s contributions to the security of Israel.
