Undercover Border Police forces operating in Judea and Samaria, together with the Shin Bet and based on precise intelligence, arrested three wanted suspects this week who were allegedly planning imminent terrorist attacks.
According to the statement, undercover officers from the Judea and Samaria Border Police unit carried out operations over the past week in several locations throughout Judea and Samaria in order to thwart terror infrastructure and apprehend wanted individuals.
At the beginning of the week, the forces operated in the villages of Dura and Deir al-Asal in the Judea Brigade sector. During the operation, the undercover officers entered the villages covertly and quickly surrounded the building where one of the suspects was hiding.
The suspect, who serves as a police officer in the Palestinian Authority and is suspected of planning a terror attack, realized he was surrounded and surrendered himself to the forces. Later that same night, another suspect-an ISIS operative who was also allegedly planning to carry out a terrorist attack-was arrested in the area.
In a separate operation conducted overnight in the Askar refugee camp near Shechem (Nablus), the undercover forces entered the area covertly while overt security forces surrounded the building where a third wanted suspect was located.
The suspect, who had previously been involved in terrorist activity and had been arrested in the past by Israeli security forces, chose to surrender after realizing he was surrounded by the officerss.
All of the suspects were transferred to the Shin Bet for further interrogation aimed at uncovering their plans and preventing attacks against civilians.
A police spokesperson stated that Israeli security forces “will continue to act decisively to thwart terrorism and protect the citizens of the State of Israel in all sectors."
