Captivity survivor Bar Kuperstein confirmed in an interview with Kan Reshet Bet that his captors in Gaza broke his leg and beat him for about two weeks following the leak of the video from the Sde Teiman prison .

“They took Yosef Haim Ohana and me and simply beat us brutally," Kuperstein recalled. “They broke my leg that same day and told us it was because of Netanyahu, because of Ben Gvir, because of what is being done to their prisoners, and because of ‘Sde Teiman.’ When they calmed down, they showed us the video."

He continued: “I truly had no idea what Sde Teiman was while I was in captivity, right? I really had no idea. They show you this video and tell you, ‘Next time it won’t end with beatings-next time, if something like this happens again, I’ll kill you.’"

Speaking about the Passover holiday with his family, he said: “It was very emotional to finally be with the whole family together and celebrate the holiday properly. In captivity, during holiday periods-times of family-you remember, and it becomes much harder. You spend the entire day there in depression, and it’s not easy."

The investigation into the Sde Teiman case was opened in July 2024 against several reservists from Force 100 who served in the Sde Teiman facility which held Nukhba terrorists, on suspicion of a serious assault by on a security prisoner. Their arrests by masked law enforcement and the way the story was made public sparked a wide outcry and protests.

A film later proven to have been leaked from the Military Attorney General (MAG)'s office with the then MAG's knowledge was shown on Channel 12, allegedly showing the assault, although it was visually unclear and was found to have been doctored and spliced. It went viral worldwide, damaging the IDF's image. The MAG was immediately removed from her position and arrested, but the terrorist defendant had been released to Gaza by the time of the investigation. The new Military Advocate General ordered the withdrawal of the indictment against the five defendants.
