US President Donald Trump issued a message to Jewish communities in the United States and around the world in honor of the Passover holiday, emphasizing faith, resilience, and national prosperity.
Reflecting on the biblical origins of the חג, Trump referenced the Exodus from Egypt, describing it as a defining moment in history. “Over 3,000 years ago, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob delivered the ancient Israelites out of slavery and brought them into the promised land," he said. “It was an amazing period of time, just like today we have an amazing period of time."
The President underscored the enduring message of faith associated with Passover, stating that the holiday serves as a reminder of divine faithfulness. “This week we recall this ancient proof of G-d's faithfulness and are reminded that with true faith, eternal hope, and the power of prayer, nothing can stop the people of God," he added.
Addressing Jewish families gathering for the traditional Seder meal, Trump offered prayers for continued protection and prosperity. “As Jewish families and loved ones gather together for Seder dinner, we ask that G-d will continue to watch over the Jewish people and that He may continue to preserve and protect the United States of America for generations to come."
Trump concluded his remarks by pointing to what he described as the country’s strong condition. “Our country is doing better than it has ever done. I am very happy to report," he said, before extending holiday wishes: “Happy Passover!"
