Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force Gen. Dan Caine on Thursday spoke during a Pentagon press briefing about how the US military is conducting its attacks in Iran.

According to Caine, the US Army continues to "attack deeper" in Iranian territory, "flying further to the east now and penetrating deeper into Iranian airspace to hunt and kill one-way" attack drones.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Caine said that the "Warthog" attack aircraft, A-10C Thunderbolt II, is "hunting and killing fast attack watercraft" from Iran. Apache helicopters are fighting on the southern side.

Thus far, a total of 120 Iranian vessels and 44 minelayers have been destroyed, he added.

Caine also said that on Wednesday, the US Army dropped 5,000-pound "penetrator weapons" into underground missile and military equipment storage facilities.

Regarding why Iran is still able to launch strikes across the Gulf, Caine explained that the IRGC "came into this fight with a lot of weapons" and thus still has "some capability."

"That’s why we continue to be as aggressive and assertive," he stressed.
