In addition to the aforementioned arrest of a suicide bomber in Qalqilya, IDF forces during the night arrested twelve Palestinian Authority residents suspected of terrorist activities. Among those taken into custody were members of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Fatah Tanzim. The arrests were carried out in the Bethlehem, Qalkilya, Shechem, and Jenin districts.
In Jerusalem, a border policeman was attacked and injured by an Arab male after the latter was stopped and ordered to identify himself. The policeman was transported to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem. In northern Jerusalem, soldiers manning the Rama checkpoint came under fire from PA-controlled Kalandia. There were no injuries in that shooting attack.
Similarly, PLO gunmen opened fire at an army position in the northern Shomron, near the community of Kadim. And in southern Gaza, near the Egyptian border, an anti-tank rocket was fired at IDF soldiers. There were no injuries reported in these incidents.
