Lebanese security officials say that since the war began between Israel and Hezbollah in September 2024, 41 individuals have been arrested on suspicion of working and spying for Israel.

Asharq Al-Awsat reported that last week, authorities arrested A.M., a resident of the village of Ansar in southern Lebanon, on allegations of spying for Israel.

According to the report, the suspect allegedly provided information regarding Hezbollah targets, including missile caches and UAV factories.

The report claimed that A.M., who holds a master's degree from Turin University in Italy, was enlisted by the Mossad in 2020, underwent professional training, and served as a source of information during the war and the ceasefire.

According to the report, A.M. provided intelligence on Hezbollah operatives as well as their phone numbers. He also noted what types of exivators and heavy vehicles the terror organization uses in southern Lebanon, together with the names of their owners, their phone numbers, and vehicle type.

In October 2021, A.M. reportedly met with his handler "Michael" in Cologne, Germany, where he gave information about residents of his village and Hezbollah operatives. At the end of 2022, A.M. flew with "Michael" from Germany to Israel, where he was interrogated about many sites in Lebanon, while looking at documents with three-dimensional maps.
