Miami's transformation into one of North America's most dynamic business destinations did not happen overnight. As tech companies searched for alternatives to expensive coastal cities, South Florida emerged as a magnet for talent, startups, and ambitious global operators. Among those operators, Mindspace arrived in 2024 with a statement entrance: not one location, but two simultaneously, in two of the city's most compelling neighborhoods.
Two Locations, One Bold Statement
Mindspace launched one of the best coworking spaces in Miami with a Downtown location at 100 Biscayne Blvd and a second space at The Gateway in Wynwood, right at the intersection of Miami's Wynwood and Midtown neighborhoods. The timing was deliberate. Miami's office market was experiencing a remarkable resurgence, with a 90% increase in office visits compared to pre-pandemic levels, according to data from Placer.ai.

Mindspace arrived not just to capture that demand, but to help define what a premium office experience in the city should look like.
The Downtown office location spans three floors inside the iconic 100 Biscayne building, offering more than 400 workstations with unobstructed views of Biscayne Bay and the city skyline. The space features smaller and larger suites, individual hot desks, glass-walled conference rooms, and customizable enterprise solutions, all connected to the Metromover light rail and major highways. It is a workspace designed for companies that need to impress clients and keep their teams energized at the same time.
Mindspace Wynwood tells a different story. Housed in a brand-new building within a neighborhood famous for its street art, creative energy, and growing tech scene, the space brings together private offices, large suites, one-on-one privacy booths, and boutique meeting rooms. The design reflects Wynwood's artistic soul, featuring work by Miami-based artists Jessy Nite and Marina Font, along with local plants sourced from The Midtown Garden Center, a family-owned business nearby. A penthouse rooftop terrace looks out over the neighborhood, offering members a space for events, morning coffee, or a midday reset. Local partnerships, weekly wellness classes, and a packed calendar of community events round out an experience that feels far more like a boutique hotel than a conventional office.
Dan Zakai, Mindspace's co-founder and CEO, described the Downtown Miami launch as a demonstration of the company's ability to partner with landlords and transform commercial space into a high-end flagship environment. That philosophy, combining premium design with genuine hospitality, is exactly what sets Mindspace apart in a crowded market.
An Israeli Company Building a Global Network
Mindspace was founded in Israel in 2014 by Zakai and co-founder Yotam Alroy. Israel's startup ecosystem, one of the most active in the world relative to its size, shaped the company's DNA from the beginning. The mentality of building fast, designing with intention, and treating service as a competitive advantage runs through every Mindspace location, from Tel Aviv to Miami to Amsterdam. Israel remains an active market for the company today, and the brand's roots there are visible in its approach: community-first, hospitality-driven, and relentlessly focused on the member experience.
From that foundation, Mindspace has grown into a network of more than 45 locations across 20+ cities in seven countries spanning Europe, the U.S., and Israel. Miami was part of a year in which the company doubled its U.S. presence, reflecting confidence that the American market was ready for a boutique alternative to the volume-first operators that had dominated the coworking space.
The Netherlands: A Historic Building and a Strategic Acquisition
Mindspace's entry into the Netherlands came through the acquisition of local coworking company KleinKantoor, a smart move that gave the brand immediate credibility and local market knowledge. The flagship Dutch location, Mindspace Dam, sits right beside Dam Square in Amsterdam inside a preserved building dating to 1888, originally a bank designed in the Dutch Renaissance Revival style. The contrast between the building's grand architecture and Mindspace's contemporary interior design creates an environment that regularly gets recognized as one of Amsterdam's most distinctive workspaces.
Today Mindspace operates three Amsterdam locations, including spaces at Herengracht and Nieuwezijds, serving companies of all sizes that need flexible, beautifully designed space in one of Europe's most important business cities. As Dutch organizations increasingly shift away from traditional long-term leases toward adaptable arrangements, Mindspace's model fits precisely where demand is heading.
Romania: A Strategic Bet on Eastern Europe
Mindspace's entry into Romania is one of the more ambitious chapters in its expansion story. In 2018, the company signed a landmark deal with Globalworth, the largest office investor in Central and Eastern Europe, to open three locations across Bucharest: Globalworth Campus, City Offices, and Bucharest Tower Center, totaling approximately 12,000 square meters. Globalworth didn't just provide the real estate. It invested $10 million in Mindspace as part of the agreement, becoming a company shareholder and signaling strong conviction in the brand's trajectory.
Romania quickly validated that conviction. A second Bucharest location opened just months after the first, and within a few years the Romanian operation had won the award for Best Coworking Space at the Central European Startup Awards, the region's most prominent recognition for innovation and quality. Bucharest's combination of a highly educated workforce, a growing tech sector, and a cost structure attractive to multinationals made it a natural fit for a brand that specializes in serving global companies looking to expand without taking on traditional lease risk.
The Netherlands and Romania markets are even managed under a single regional leadership structure, with General Manager Odele Bishop overseeing both countries and City Lead Andreea Birladeanu managing day-to-day operations in Bucharest. It is a setup that reflects Mindspace's broader operating philosophy: globally consistent standards delivered with local expertise and personality.
What the Miami Success Signals
Miami proved that a premium, experience-first coworking model can compete and win in a market saturated with options. Members are not just renting a desk. They are joining a community, accessing a network that spans the world, and benefiting from a hospitality mindset that Mindspace has spent a decade refining. The Miami launch demonstrated that companies, from two-person startups to enterprise teams of 100+, are willing to pay for quality when the space genuinely supports how they work and how they want their team to feel about coming to the office.
That same formula is what Mindspace brought to Amsterdam and Bucharest, and it is what connects all three markets back to the company's Israeli origins. A brand built in one of the world's most demanding startup environments, exported to Miami, refined across Europe, and now growing in both directions at once. The ambition is clear, and Miami was the moment it became undeniable.
