Likud members in Jerusalem are choosing their candidate for the mayor of Jerusalem - and given the way the situation currently stands, he will be a shoo-in for the city's top job. Conventional wisdom has it that the Labor party, which has not yet chosen its candidate, has basically written off the Jerusalem mayoralty election.
The two Likud candidates running today are Yigal Amedi and MK Roni Bar-On. Amedi is supported by former Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Defense Minister Sha'ul Mofaz and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, while Bar-On has the support of Finance Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Education Minister Limor Livnat.
