Bnei Akiva of the US & Canada, the youth movement of the Religious Zionists of America, has announced a record number of registrants for this summer’s traditional Israel leadership program for teenagers, entitled "Mach Hach [Preparation Camp] Ba'Aretz." The emphasis of the six-week seminar will be on first-hand experiencing of Israel via touring historical sights, hiking, learning at a yeshiva, volunteering at an army base, and a weekend spent at homes of Israeli teenagers.

“For over 30 years without interruption," explained National Director Steve Frankel, "Bnei Akiva has been providing the Mach Hach Ba’Aretz experience for thousands of 10th grade graduates. In the last two years, while other organizations cancelled their Israel summer programs due to the [terrorism], Bnei Akiva continued sending students and thus has once again proved to be the leading youth organization with regard to commitment to Israel.” Mach Hach’s current registration is over 300, and applications are still being received. This record eclipses the previous high of 266 participants in the summer of 2000. “We are committed not to let the financial constraints of the participants limit participation," Frankel said.
